This CD features the musical art of the Mordvin peasants in the Volga region of Central Russia. Many of the Mordva dance tunes on this CD played on the fiddle, balalaika, accordion and recorder (vyashkema) convey some of the atmosphere of the old national customs connected with the agrarian calendar.
